Offbeat! Same awesome show, new awesome page theme!

So what do we think of the site’s new look? I like it. It’s like we’re getting all Banksy and stuff. That’s right! We’re hip! We’re urban! We revel in deconstructionism! We rage against the machine!

And I dunno, maybe it’s all the gloomy weather we’ve been having, but lately I’ve been in the mood for something sort of lugubrious yet snazzy, and this new theme seemed to resonate, so here we are. Wooo!

My oh, my good citizens! Can it be? Has it really been two long years since we set sail on this fantastic voyage?

Yes! Yes, it apparently has! Two long and glorious years have passed as the plucky folks of Offbeat have plumbed the briny depths of creativity to bring forth wondrous glittering specimens of awesomeness, unexpected fusions of delightfulness and kickassedness, lavish spectacles of the unexpected and the arcane!

But we are not done yet, noble fans of belly dance! No! We have yet more awesome to bring you – the charming and supportive fans of our merry little show!

Adeylah! Veteran restaurant dancer! Fixture at community shows throughout the Portland metro area! Come see this dynamic and talented performer rock the house!

We also have two! Two! Fabulous dancers making their Offbeat debut this month! Alyson and Jo shall each make their maiden voyage with the swashbuckling Offbeat crew! These are two of my favoritest dancers, and good folk, I cannot in good conscience have you not see the awesome that they will bring.

Ziggy’s classes start this week!

So you’ve been digging on the Offbeat awesomeness for awhile, and you say to yourself, “Dude. How awesome would it be if I, too, was a belly dancer?”

Good news! It’s now March. And you know what that means? It means that Ziggy is just beginning a new month of classes at the fabulous Viscount Dance Studios this Thursday. Also join us this month! Friday, March 19th 7 to 9pm when our hearty band of rebels charges forth into the Blue Monk’s hallowed basement/jazz club for yet more Offbeat Belly Dance magic!

So much awesome, we can’t charge a cover! Because nobody could afford to pay for this much awesome! (Especially now that Dubai’s gone broke. They could have maybe afforded that much awesome back in the day, but then they went all nuts with the building of the towers into the sky and the harboring of Michael Jackson and whatnot, so alas, their millions have been frittered away on the winds of global economic change and untimely celebrity passings… but hey, these things happen).
